FFA Banquet ends a strong year
Jun 04, 2026 12:44PM ● By Lyndee Nimer, HistorianThe Malad FFA Chapter held its end-of-the-year Awards Banquet on Wednesday, April 29, where they recognized many state competing teams, awarded FFA Degrees, honorary degrees, and awards. They also announced their 2026-2027 officer team. The first degree given to the members was the Greenhand degree, which an FFA member earns by being enrolled in an agriculture education class for at least a semester of the school year and developing and supervising a supervised agricultural experience. The chapter handed out 50 greenhand degrees. The next degree given was the chapter degree. To earn the chapter degree, a member has to hold a greenhand degree, productively invest 150 dollars or 45 hours in their supervised agricultural experience. The chapter handed out a total of 23 chapter degrees. The chapter had a total of 6 State FFA degrees, which only the Idaho FFA can bestow. The chapter has 1 American degree, Alivia Waldron, who will receive her degree in October at the national convention.
The chapter handed out 4 honorary degrees. The first honorary degree went to Robert Hannah for his devotion to the Malad FFA Chapter. The second honorary degree went to JaNae Daniels for her support of the FFA chapter. The third honorary degree, Sawyer Fonnesbeck, for training our livestock judging and parliamentary procedure teams. The last honorary degree went to GeAnna Roe for chaperoning multiple fieldtrips and competitions. Malad FFA has had a very successful year, with many successful fieldtrips, competing teams, and industry tours. We are very excited for the upcoming year and all it has to offer!
