(February) First round of completed Snowflake blocks from January. L to R: Sharon Harris, Brenda Daniels, Debbie Reisner, Rosie Silvester, Audrey Jaussi, Nita Workman.
Guild business included a reminder that our Quilt Show has moved to Saturday, June 6th in conjunction with the Car Show. All members are encouraged to create a red, white and blue piece for display in our themed area of the show. These quilts can also be submitted for the Challenge Quilt at the Utah Quilt Guild Show in October. Their theme is also red, white and blue. If you have UFOs you would like to work on, please write a list and turn it into the guild. Prizes will be awarded at the end of the year. Bob Crowther has contacted Sharon Harris to see if the guild can put together a quilt for the Lincoln Day dinner in March. They purchased the fabric from Allen Drug and we will work on it at today’s meeting. The second friendship quilt has been completed and goes to Tracy Drury.

(February) Round three of January's snowflake blocks. L to R: Tammy Benson, Cindy Gevas and Tracy Drury.
If you are not a member of the Utah Quilt Guild, membership is due in March and the cost is $20. If we have at least 10 members sign up then we can get some financial assistance with presenters. Quilt Fest is October 6-10th at the Davis Center in Layton, Utah. Registration for classes opens on July 6th.
(February) Round two of January's snow flake blocks. L to R: Mary Ellen Knudsen, Bonnie Howard, Carrie Hess, Lynda Burrie.
13 people created a total of 16 snowflake blocks which were the January block of the month. The lucky winner of the blocks was Rosie Silvester. Mary Ellen demonstrated the block of the month, which is a heart snow globe. She pre-cut some of the bases, if you would like them all to be the same gray. For every block that you have completed by our March 12th meeting, you will be entered to win all the blocks. Brenda presented a tutorial on how to create a diagonal backing.
Our quilters were busy in January and February. Rosie practiced paper piecing and the April block of the month. Nita Workman completed four tiny houses for the friendship quilt. Helen Howell made two purple quilts for a grandniece that just completed her mission in Colorado to choose from. Tracy Drury repaired a UFO that she was repairing for son. Bonnie Howard created another beautiful treacle baby quilt. Patti Walczykowski showed some of the beautiful items she has crafted from wool she harvested from her sheep. Mary Ellen Knudsen made her four tiny houses for the friendship quilt. Audrey Jaussi completed six sets of tiny houses and her appliqued block for the friendship quilts. She also made two baby quilts and got the quilts dresden plate quilt pieced together except for the borders. Brenda Daniels completed three shop hop blocks, a baby quilt and a quilt called Scottish Plaid. Carrie Hess put together her fidget blocks and made them into an apron. She showed an airplane themed baby quilt she was commissioned to make. Nyla Evans, Bonnie, Mary Ellen and Shara Olson each completed part of an appliqued friendship quilt block. Tammy Benson has been busy hand embroidering blocks to turn into quilts for her grand nieces and nephews. Cindy Gevas completed two UFOs, one being a wool needle keeper and the other a popsicle quilt. Jean Lucht turned a pattern for a baby quilt into a simple lap quilt in red, white and blue.
