EldaLaine Archibald Allen

EldaLaine Archibald, was born June 18, 1948, in Salt Lake City, Utah. The third of six children and oldest daughter of Elden Glen Archibald and Margery Delaine Williams. She was raised in Malad, Idaho and graduated from Malad High School in 1966. EldaLaine married John ElRay Allen July 8, 1966, and was sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan, Utah Temple. They lived in Riverside, Utah for about five years before making their home in Malad, Idaho. 

Raising four boys kept her very involved in cub scouts & Pinewood Derby. EldaLaine made everyone feel like family and food was one of her love languages. Being an excellent cook, she went out of her way to bless people with meals and treats to show she cared. The kids and grandkids have fond memories of spending time with EldaLaine in the kitchen. 

She enjoyed doing things with and for all of her children and their families. She loved to play games and laugh together. She loved her kids and their spouses with all of her heart. EldaLaine always made her family a priority and planned special outings with her daughters-in-law as well.

EldaLaine was actively involved in her community and church, as well as caring for her dear husband in his declining health. She was a kind and caring woman who worked hard serving her family, friends, and everyone she knew right up to the end. EldaLaine passed away November 16, 2025, at the age of 77.

EldaLaine was preceded in death by her parents Elden and Margery Delaine Archibald, her daughter Elizabeth Ann Allen, & her granddaughter Alessandria Mari Allen. She is survived by her husband John ElRay Allen of Malad, Idaho; her children Troy Glen Allen (Cinniman) of Malad, Todd John Allen (Angela) of Tremonton Utah, Travis Lee Allen (Cajsa) of Summerville South Carolina, John Elden Allen (Camille) of Malad, Emily Peters (Cody) of Surprise Arizona, 16 Grandchildren and 7 Great-grandchildren; as well as her five siblings.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at 12 noon at the 4th Ward LDS Chapel. Viewings will be held Monday evening from 7-8 p.m.  at Horsley Funeral Home and again prior to the service at the church from 10:30-11:30 a.m.
