During last week’s meeting of the County Commissioners, the commissioners ratified a proclamation celebrating the 100th year anniversary of a hospital in the county, and reaffirming its central role in the health care of thousands of residents over the years.  The proclamation can be read in full below.  

In observation of the ongoing celebration of the centennial of the hospital, this month will end with a 100th anniversary Ice Cream Social celebration on Friday, May 30 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the hospital.  The whole community is invited, for ice cream, music, memories, and a celebration of a century of caring! 

 Proclamation Celebrating 100 Years of Service: Nell J. Redfield Memorial Hospital, 

an Oneida County Facility (1925–2025) 

WHEREAS, in the year 1925, Nell J. Redfield Memorial Hospital first opened its doors with a mission to provide compassionate, high-quality healthcare to our community; and 

WHEREAS, for the past 100 years, the hospital has stood as a pillar of strength, hope, and healing for generations of families, offering lifesaving care, advancing medical excellence, and serving with unwavering dedication; and 

WHEREAS, the hospital has grown and evolved with the times, embracing innovation and expanding services to meet the changing needs of the people it serves, while maintaining the core values of teamwork, respect, excellence, and compassion instilled from its founding; and 

WHEREAS, the providers, staff, board of directors, and volunteers of Nell J. Redfield Memorial Hospital have consistently demonstrated exceptional professionalism, kindness, and courage—especially in times of challenge—and have earned the enduring trust and gratitude of the community; and 

WHEREAS, the centennial anniversary of Nell J. Redfield Memorial Hospital is a momentous occasion that reflects a legacy of care, the spirit of service, and a steadfast commitment to the health and well-being of all; 

NOW, THEREFORE, be it proclaimed that we, Oneida County, Idaho and its citizens, do hereby recognize and celebrate 100 years of outstanding service by Nell J. Redfield Memorial Hospital, and we proclaim the month of May 2025 to honor the past, celebrate the present, and look forward to a future of continued excellence in healthcare.
