Expanding on the success of last year’s greenhouse plant sales, the Dragons will be selling a wide variety of produce and flowers this coming weekend at the MHS greenhouse.  

The sale will take place at the greenhouse, from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on May 8, and 9 a.m. through noon on May 9 and May 10.

Vegetables for sale include Peppers (ancho, Anaheim, jalapeno, cayenne, banana, red, green and yellow bell), Tomatoes (Super Sweet 100, Celebrity, Big Beef, Early Girl, Roma, and Red Grape), Squash (Spaghetti, Crookneck, and Butternut), Cucumber (Stright 8, Boston Pickling, and Burpless 26), Zucchini (Black Beauty and Golden). Cabbage (Copenhagen, O-S Cross and Red), Pumpkin (Jack O’Lantern and Red Warty), as well as artichokes, brussels sprouts, broccoli, cantaloupe, honeydew, cauliflower, eggplant, onions, peas, watermelon, and pumpkins.

4 packs of starts are $2.00, 2” singles are $1.50, and 6” singles are $2.00.  

In addition to vegetables, flowers include Alyssum, Marigolds, Geraniums, flowering cabbage, Osteospermum, Petunia, Dracaena Spikes, Verbena, and Zinnia.

For flowers, 6” pots of mixed confetti are $5, and single varieties are $3.  Hanging baskets are $20 for 10”, and $30 for 12”.  4 packs of Alyssum and Marigold are $3.  4” pots of Zinnia, Alyssum, Verbena, and Petunia are $2, and $3 for Geranium, Osteospermum, and Dracaena Spikes.

All the fruit and vegetables available at the sale have been grown and cared for by Malad High School students.  Come support your local students as they learned the finer points of nursery cultivation, marketing, and sales.
