Monique Tueller Perkins Price

Monique Tueller Perkins Price, a long-time resident of Malad Idaho passed away in her home on Monday, November 13, 2023, after battling a long illness.  Monica was born on May 18, 1952, in Logan Utah, a daughter of Daniel Wilcox Perkins and Shirlee B Tueller Perkins.  When Monica was born, her older siblings remember being outside the hospital window looking up as their mother yelled down to them, they have a new baby sister.  

Monica resided in Smithfield and Preston in her early years of life before moving to Malad when she was 11, where she lived for the remainder of her life.  

Monica and Monte met when she was 14 and he was 16.  They knew right away they were going to be together forever.  They dated for five years, and they were married on July 18, 1970 and later sealed in the Logan Temple.  They struggled for seven years to have kids when finally, they were able to have four in three years; Amber Chae, Trissa Gene, Thomas Daniel (TD) and his twin Kip Davis.  Monica was so happy to be a mom and she loved her kids with all her heart.  

Monica held many jobs in her life, most of them at one time.  She worked at Miller’s Jewelry, managed a motel, First Bank and Trust, Gymnastics teacher, Vending Services, Idaho Visitor’s Center, Rest Area Custodian, numerous jobs at the school including lunchroom staff and cleaning the gym after activities.  She worked for Dr Ty Smith doing coding and billing and worked for her son-in-law doing billing.  

Monica was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she fulfilled many callings including serving in the Primary Presidency, Young Women Presidency, Sunday School Teacher, Relief Society Teacher and Chorister.  Monica loved the Lord and taught each of her kids to love the Lord also and to have faith and lean on Him to answer their prayers.  Monica treated everyone who entered her house like a long-lost friend.  Monica was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving husband, Monte Glen Price and her four kids: Amber (Craig) Hartman of Windsor, California, Trissa (Sterling) Nesbit of Malad, Idaho, TD (Sara) of Tooele, Utah, Kip (Mandy) of Farmington, Missouri, 17 grand kids and one great granddaughter.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Shirlee Perkins, and siblings, Georgene Perkins, Dana-Lee Mikesell and Jim Perkins.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at the Malad Fifth Ward Church 20 S 100 W in Malad.  A viewing will be held Friday evening, November 17, 2023, from 6-8 p.m. at the Horsley Funeral Home 132 W 300 N in Malad.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday prior to services.  Burial will follow in the Cherry Creek Cemetery.
