Douglas (Doug) James Jensen

Douglas (Doug) James Jensen, 70 of Malad City, passed away with family around him, October 12, 2023.  Doug was born October 1, 1953 in Ogden, Utah to Howard and Elaine Jensen.  He was raised and educated in Ogden, Utah.  Doug graduated from Ben Lomond High School, class of 1972.  Following graduation, he worked at Hobart. Then he enlisted in the Army. After serving in the military, Doug went back to work at Hobart.In 1977, he began his career at Hill Field Air Force base where he retired after working 31 years.  

 While working at Hobart, he met the love of his life, Karen S. Klein. Doug married Karen on October 8, 1976.  They just celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary.

 Doug retired from Hill Field in 2008. Karen and he moved to Malad City that same year. In his early retirement, he drove school bus for the Malad School District. Doug enjoyed playing horseshoes. He competed in tournaments in Idaho and Utah.  He, also, enjoyed hunting, camping, and gambling.  Doug took pride in his yard. He was so pleased when he was awarded yard of the month for Malad City. Doug was a friend to everyone.

 Doug is survived by his wife, Karen S. Jensen, stepson Bill (Amy) Day of Kaysville, Utah, sister Freida (Mike) Erwin of Layton, Utah, brothers; Alan (Shelly) Jensen of Ogden, Utah, and Mike (Tammy) Jensen of Ogden, Utah, 4 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.  Doug was proceeded in death by his parents, Howard and Eliane Jensen, and sister Carolyn Bice.  

 Graveside services were held October 18, 2023 at 12:00 pm at the Malad City Cemetery.  A viewing was held prior to the graveside services at the Horsley Funeral home beginning at 11:00 am, friends and family were welcomed to come pay their respects.
