Rural Health Care Leader Recognized as Idaho’s Trustee of the Year

Elaine Bohn was named Idaho's Trustee of the Year by the Idaho Hospital Association.

Elaine Bohn has Dedicated More than 17 Years of Transformative Leadership and Compassionate Care

The Idaho Hospital Association (IHA) is excited to announce Elaine Bohn, a distinguished health care leader and advocate, as this year's recipient of the Trustee of the Year Award. This prestigious accolade is a testament to Bohn's unwavering dedication, visionary leadership, and significant contributions to the Nell J. Redfield Memorial Hospital in Malad and the broader health care landscape, transcending the borders of the tight-knit community.

Elaine Bohn's exceptional commitment to advancing health care services and prioritizing patient-centered care has solidified her position as an impressive figure within the region. Serving as a trustee for more than 17 years at the Nell J. Redfield Memorial Hospital, an Oneida County Facility, Bohn consistently demonstrates a profound understanding of the unique challenges rural health care organizations face.  Constantly striving for positive change, her visionary leadership and strategic insights have been instrumental in steering the hospital's growth and development, ensuring the community has received unparalleled quality and access of care.

She has established meaningful connections with numerous state and federal legislators, and has helped shaped policies that have prioritized the well-being of patients and the sustainability of health care in rural communities throughout Idaho.

The Award presentation occurred at the Idaho Hospital Association Annual Conference from October 2 to 4, 2023. This event brought together healthcare leaders and professionals from throughout the state to commemorate accomplishments, exchange perspectives, and engage in collaborative efforts aimed at shaping the future of healthcare in Idaho.

A statewide, nonprofit association, IHA brings hospital and health care leaders together in pursuit of quality health care across Idaho. IHA strives to offer members valued resources and services in many areas, including federal and state policy development and advocacy, quality and patient safety, data analytics, and workforce development.
