Frozen Cow opens for business

Just as summer begins rolling into Malad, so has a tasty new venture- The Frozen Cow.  Featuring Reed’s Dairy ice cream from Idaho Falls, The Frozen Cow provides tried and true ice cream favorites, as well as signature flavors and treats.  On Saturday, May 21, The Frozen Cow had its grand opening, giving Malad its first taste of the frozen fun it will be starring this summer.

Quinn Eliason and The Frozen Cow first made their debut at the Malad 4th of July festivities in 2021.  After a successful day serving their scoops to Malad’s finest at the park’s patriotic festivities, Quinn took the trailer full of creamy treats to Downey’s fair where they had another booming week of frozen fun.  Since that time, Quinn has been contemplating opening for business in Malad over the summer months full time and jumped at the opportunity as things started to fall into place.

The Frozen Cow is a fun blend of many of Quinn’s interests.  After studying business in college, the idea of having his own side gig always sounded fun.  His love for ice cream and all things dairy, a healthy appreciation for a good cow, combined with a great place for such a business in Malad got things churching in Quinn’s mind.

Katelyn, Quinn’s wife, worked at Reed’s Dairy for several years and since then has touted it to be the very best ice cream around.  With such fun flavors as Blue Moon, Bubble Bear, Monster Cookie and Mom Recipe, we may all soon agree with her.

Quinn has partnered with his mother, Kristy Eliason, to begin this sweet, new business.  Over many, many years, Kristy has gained a lot of knowledge, experience and love for feeding and serving the masses as she has put on various concession stands and food catering.  Kristy had her start with her own parents, Jim and Donna Anderson, as they had their own food service business.  Purchasing her food trailer in 2021 was the next step to taking her tasty eats on the road.  Quinn’s idea to use the food trailer for Malad’s own ice cream on wheels has turned out to be the start of a great partnership.

A win for Quinn, Kristy and The Frozen Cow is a win for Malad as we all get to enjoy the sweet dairy treats all summer long.  The Frozen Cow plans to be open during the evening hours from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m....11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday.  The Frozen Cow crew says to “moo”ve on down for some “udder”ly delicious treats!
