Community Chorus concert held over weekend

The 46th annual Malad Valley Community Chorus Spring Concert was held on May 1, 2022, in the Malad 2nd/4th/5th Ward Chapel.  Under the direction of Ralph Bennett with Helen Ward as the accompanist, the Chorus sang of hope, the theme of the concert.

The 30-voice Chorus sang about where individuals and the world can find hope.  The hope of finding loved ones, the hope of peace on earth, and the hope found in Jesus Christ were all themes of the 15 songs that comprised the hourlong program.

The sopranos and altos were featured in a medley of “Sing a Song of Peace” and “This Is My Country.” The tenors and basses sang “Bring Him Home” from the musical “Les Miserables.” Guest soloist Katrina Bennett Stucki played the oboe for two numbers. The program concluded with the Chorus’s signature song, “The Lord’s Prayer,” as arranged by Albert Hay Malotte.
