Bob Christophersen and Ken Eliason host ice cream social and Q&A

In anticipation of the upcoming county commission election, candidates Bob Christophersen and Ken Eliason hosted an evening of root beer floats and conversation at the Fire Station.  The candidates welcomed dozens of visitors, including friends, supporters, and those curious about their positions on a range of issues to the event.

From family to former commissioners, the pair answered questions about a range of issues that are currently facing the county, as well as those which are likely to emerge in the near and long term.  Among the topics discussed with guests one on one were water issues, new zoning standards, road maintenance, and related development issues.  Over the last year, the commission has dealt with the revision of the Building and Development Code to more carefully manage growth, new Road Standards, the explosion of construction across the valley, and the emergence of a number of issues that are now confronting Oneida, as well as many other rural counties, across the state.

Eliason and Christophersen are currently serving as commissioners. Current Commission Chairman Bill Lewis is not up for election this year.  Eliason is running against Andee Parry in the primary, and Christophersen is running against Brian Jeppsen.
