Josh Jensen is one of ten seniors for the 2013 Malad High School Dragons
football team. He is 5’9″ 150 pounds and plays wide receiver and defensive end for the Dragons. He works hard in the weight room, at practice and during games. Josh also participates in basketball and baseball for Malad High School.
Head Coach Coda Tchida loves everything Jensen brings to the field for the Dragons. He Said, “Josh, like the rest of our seniors, gives us 110% at all times. He will do what needs to be done in order to push his teammates to be the best they can be both on and off the field. He is the type of kid who will play any position that the coaches ask him to play and he can pretty much fill in wherever he is needed.”
The Dragons are coming off a tough home loss to district rival West Side and have been preparing for another tough district opponent in Soda Springs this week at practice. “This week we focused on
getting back to the basics and playing sound, fundamental football,” Jensen said. “Our offense has been playing well all season, but our defense has not been able to stop anybody. We have been working on tackling and staying low and we know we have to go out and do both of those exceptionally well in order to stay alive in our district,” he continued.
Jensen also mentioned that the main focus this week will be stopping Soda’s offense. He said, “It all starts with creating turnovers and forcing three and outs on the defensive side of the ball. We have to stay disciplined and do our jobs this week. We want to stay in the hunt for a district title, so beating Soda is a must; it is do-or-die this week.”
Malad and Soad Springs will kickoff on Friday at 7:00 p.m. in Soda Springs. Come out and watch Josh and the Dragons in a must-win district matchup.
