American Legion to send care packages to service members stationed overseas

The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 65 in Malad is putting together a care package drive for our troops overseas.  The public is asked to show their appreciation for the troops by donating items.  The Auxiliary is asking the public to donate items such as instant coffee, tea bags, powered creamer, powered Gatorade, pre-sweetened Kool-Aid, beef jerky, granola bars, dried fruit, snack-size crackers, chips, individually wrapped hard candy, suckers, mints, gum, sunflower seeds, baby wipes, disposable razors, eye drops, hand sanitizer, sun block, non-aerosol deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, floss, lip balm, q-tips, tissue, bandages, nail clippers, combs, magazines, newspapers, crossword puzzles, playing cards, wash cloths, bandanas, socks, etc.

A donation box has been placed at the Malad Senior Center and the Auxiliary is also accepting monetary donations to go towards purchasing items and to help cover shipping costs to our troops overseas. The Auxiliary is also asking for addresses of local service members who are stationed overseas. For further information or to have donation items picked up, please call Marcia Stocks at 766-2424.
