field for the Dragons. He Said, “Tanner, like the rest of our seniors, gives us 110% at all times. He is a high-energy guy and a great athlete. He pushes himself and his teammates at practice, in the weight room, and during games.”

The Dragons are coming off of a bye week and have been preparing for district rival West Side for the past two weeks. “We always want to go out and get a win against West Side,” Lewis said. “They like to run the ball and are very aggressive on the defensive side of the ball. We have been watching a lot of film and going hard during practice for the past two weeks. We will be prepared to come out in front of our home crowd on Senior Night and get a win,” he continued.

Tanner also noted that Malad’s success starts with the offensive and defensive lines. He said, “Our offense relies on the line to keep our quarterback protected and to get our run game going. We have to be on top of our game against a very aggressive West Side defense in order to be successful Friday night. On the defensive side of the ball we have to take on blocks and stuff the run game, and that all starts with the defensive line pushing the opponents’ offensive line back.”

This will be Malad’s final regular season home game of the season and the Dragons want to make it a memorable night. “We want nothing more than to go out and beat West Side on Senior Night. It is crazy that the season has gone by so fast already and that this will be the last time the seniors will suit up in front of this crowd under the lights on our home field. We want to go out and perform well on both sides of the ball and get a win,” Lewis finished.

Malad and West Side will kickoff on Friday at 7:00 p.m. in Malad. Come out and watch the game and cheer on Tanner and the Dragons on Senior Night.
