Robert Wayne Hess

Robert Wayne Hess passed away on December 17, 2023, at the age of 95. He went peacefully in his home with his daughter by his side. Robert was born on November 5, 1928, to Floyd Robert Hess and Nellie Isadore Thomas Hess in Colfax, Washington.

Robert served in the US Army as a medic in the Panama Canal. He also served on many boards in the community through the years. Bob was a hard worker and worked on the family farm as a youngster. He later purchased and farmed the A-Heart Ranch.

Dad was a bachelor until 39 years old, when he found the love of his life, Lois Gambles Kent, and they were married on February 16, 1967. Lois had 5 children from her first husband who had passed.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Lois, and son Dee Kent, His parents, and sisters Martisha ‘SIS' Hess and Kay Dennis. He is survived by brothers Sherman (Janice) Hess - LaPine Oregon, and Dan (Carrie) Hess - Malad, His daughters Amy Nell (Mark) Thomas - Malad, Molly Sue (Tony) Whitman - North Platte, Nebraska, Cindy Kent (Jim) Gleason - American Fork, UT, Kena Kent (Terry) Mair - Midway, UT, His sons Kelly (Connie) Kent - Lehi, Utah, and Kurtis (Misty) Kent - Salem, OR. Bob had 26 grandchildren and 69 great-grandchildren, with another one on the way.

Per Dad's letter to the family, He states, “No public viewing or funeral services." In the spring we will have a celebration of life.

The family would like to give special thanks to Tiffany Palmer and especially Hands of Hope, both with their gentle care, many laughs, and their love for him.

As Dad would say “I love you and that’s your problem,” “What a Wonderful World," and "AMEN BROTHER!"
