With the Preston Invitational Cross Country meet over, the Malad Middle School XC has wrapped up their 2023 race season.  The 6th, 7th and 8th grade runners competed in seven races throughout their fall season where they pushed themselves individually and as a team to run at their very best.  They found themselves not only racing well but often winning the very top place.

Competing for the Girl’s Cross Country team were Lily Coleman, Aezlyn Summers, Samantha Schrenk, Brielle Bastian, Kallee Talbot, Katie Palmer, KaDee Daniels, Aleah Seamons, Jenna Blaisdell, Ellie Angell, Bella Burbidge, Somerli Nalder, Macey Bird, Serenity Brees, Berklee Burbidge, Brielle Nalder, Laney Coatney, Cheznie Hannum and Aubry Price.  Competing for the Boy’s Cross Country team were Jace Nalder, Dawson Beutler, Joseph Angell, Trigger Jones, Brecken Price, Evan Colton, Asher Brower and Wheeler Smith.  Over their near ten week season, the teams competed in Malad, Bear Lake, West Side, Marsh Valley, Pocatello, and Preston.

The MMS Girl’s XC proudly boasted an undefeated season, winning every meet that they had a full team entered in.  This included the District meet held at West Side on September 21 between Malad, Bear Lake and West Side where the MMS Boy’s XC also won their district race.  The Girl’s team won with a score of 21 with West Side coming in second place with 48 points.  The Boy’s team tallied up 25 points to win with West Side taking a close second place with 33 points.
