Nine Boy Scouts from Troop 1776 attended the weeklong summer camp in Island Park in July with leaders Bill Lewis, Jed Pedersen, Chad Call, and Tony McClain.

Over the course of the week, the Troop racked up the following impressive tally of highlights: 38 merit badges (13 more partially completed), 4 Paddle Boarding or Snorkeling awards, 8 swim test completions, 368 different rank requirements passed off toward First Class, 4 Polar Bear Plunge awards, Best Belly Flop—Chad Call, 1 Archery Golden Arrow award, 4 Rifle Dime awards.  Troop 1776 continued their long legacy of receiving an Honor Troop award.

On Friday July 28, 3 Eagle Scouts—Trevor Allen, Marshall Asay, and Levi Balappa from Troop 1776 climbed to the peak of Mount Borah, with Chad Hansen as guide and Tony McClain.  The rigorous climb took about 6 hours to get to the peak and included well over 5,000 feet of vertical ascent.
